Origin: Uk From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you can be sure of a warm welcome at the school. Staff and students always had a friendly greeting. A big thank you to Susanna for the week I spent in her advanced class. The material she chose was perfect for her students’ requirements and her magical ear meant she picked up on our mistakes even at a distance! Cooking with Eva was an absolute joy and I have the waistline to prove it. She and Angelo also looked after us extremely well on the trips out. So, 5 stars from me. I can’t recommend this school highly enough

Origin: Giappone Everyone in the school is so helpful and friendly. I am currently studying here, they are giving me a great guidance to enjoy learning Italian. I respect my teacher but it is more like a human to human relationship; I feel very comfortable to ask any questions because they answer me with sincerely attitude all the time until I understand. Also their activities are very interesting and attractive, people can learn not only Italian but culture, history, cooking, locals...and more! If you are here in Lucca, I definitely recommend this school for you to start Italian life!

I have learned so much, enjoyed the activities in the afternoon. Thank you for that wonderful “farewell” diner. However, for me it is not a “farewell”. Very sure, I will come back. Sorry for writing in English, but as I want that our Mayor knows what a great service you all gave to us, I had to write it in English. Origin: Berkhamsted, UK I wholeheartedly agree with and second everything that Sue Reynolds wrote in the earlier post. The course - Speak and Cook Italian - was a joy from start to finish. Eva, who taught the cookery, is a wonderful teacher, as was our delightful language tutor, Francesca. Both were so patient and good-humoured. Thank you Eva for inspiring me to make all that lovely Italian food, and for taking such good care of my vegetarian dietary requirements. Thank you Angelo for driving and accompanying us to our visits and bringing everything to life in such a fascinating way - I'm just starting to live down my confusion at the chestnut mill with mais (corn) and mice (i topi)! Our visits to all the gastronomical places of interest (and consumption!) were fantastic and gave an insight that we wouldn't have experienced by ourselves. Lucca is such a beautiful and intoxicating city and I wasn't able to see enough of it, so hope to be back next year for another course and more sight-seeing. It was a pleasure to know all my language classmates, food course mates (Sue, thank you especially for your infectious laugh and constant humour) and all the staff at the school. Best wishes to all. Origin: Rugby, Uk "I was so impressed with the efficiency of the Lucca Italian School (LIS) as well as the relaxed and friendly atmosphere which was apparent the moment I arrived for registration. This atmosphere permeated to the students who I also found great company across all nationalities. Lessons were relaxed and fun, which is so conducive to learning. Eva, my tutor, is an absolute star. She was encouraging without putting pressure on students. How she can make grammar so simple and clear is a marvel. Her lessons improved my Italian considerably after only a week although not my waistline as I was on the Cook Italian course in the afternoons! This was run by Eva in conjunction with Angelo, who joined us for the outings outside Lucca. I thoroughly enjoyed this course too which enabled me to meet other students from different Italian classes. I love Italian food even more now. I have come home inspired to improve my Italian language and Italian cooking skills further. What struck me was the number of other students who return to LIS time and again. That speaks volumes and I fully intend to be among their number at LIS next year. I can’t recommend Lucca and particularly the Lucca Italian School highly enough.
