SPEAK AND KNOW THE OLIVE OIL
This special event is only held once a year, for one week, during one of the most fascinating seasons ever: autumn. It is designed for students who would like to practise the Italian language and at the same time get to know the secrets of one of the main traditions of our territory: the making of extra virgin olive oil.
Participation in this program requires at least an intermediate knowledge of Italian.
Course duration: one week.
2025 starting dates: 13 October.

Program: From Monday to Friday in the morning: 9.15 am to 1 pm italian language classes in small groups of same level (max 10 participants). ACTIVITIES AFTER LANGUAGE CLASSES Monday : course presentation and information on the olive oil production chain. To follow, orientation walk around town together with a teacher. Tuesday : visit of an oil mill on the hills of Lucca and snack in the countryside. Wednesday : Comparative olive oil tasting guided by a teacher who is also a "maestro d'olio", introducing you to the secrets of the "liquid gold" and tasting of local wines guided by a Sommelier. The tastings will be accompanied by some samples of dishes enhanced by olive oil, and which combine well with the wines presented. Thursday : Tuscan cooking class with preparation of a complete menu, from appetizer to dessert, with dishes featuring autumn as the protagonist of the ingredients: chestnuts, pumpkin, mushrooms, and of course new virgin olive oil. Handmade pasta will also be prepared. At the end of the class, dinner all together. Friday : afternoon free.
PRICE: 680 € including language course, cooking lesson and tours.
